This indicates the vehicles computers have detected a malfunction. It can be as simple as a loose fuel cap; however, in order to be sure, it does need to be checked by Macdonald Motors in case the vehicle is in need of repairs.

Why is my tire pressure warning light on?
The tire pressure in one or more of the tires is below factory specifications. It can be as simple as the cold weather condensing the air; however, in order to be sure, it does need to be checked by Macdonald Motors in case the vehicle is in need of repairs.
How often should I change the oil in my vehicle?
The oil should typically be changed every 3 months or 3,000 miles or as specified by your vehicles manufacturer.
What are the benefits of synthetic oil?
Synthetic oils will keep the engine cleaner, provide better wear protection, and improve start-up at cold temperatures.
When and why should I rotate my tires?
The tires should be rotated every 6,000 miles. This will help to maximize the life of the tires by providing even tire wear.
When do I need a four wheel alignment?
Having an alignment done at least once a year will help with tire wear and can increase fuel economy.
What are the benefits of flushing my automatic transmission?
A transmission flush will help extend fluid life. It can smooth out rough and hard shifts, remove contaminated fluid, and revitalize seals and o-rings.
How can I tell when I need new tires?
A tire is worn out when its tread is equal to 2/32nds of an inch. This is indicated by a wear strip in the tire grooves. An easy way to check is to use a penny upside down on the groove of the tread and if you see the top of Abe's head you need new tires.
What steps can I take to improve fuel economy?
Follow the manufactures required maintenance schedule. Avoid prolonged engine idling. Keep tires properly inflated. Observe posted speed limits.

1) BRAKES: Summer travel gives brake pads a heavy workout, resulting in the removal of thin layers. Now is the time to check pads, shoes, rotors, drums, calipers, wheel cylinders, brake hardware and the parking brake for wear and tear.
2) TIRES: Closely inspect the tread and sidewall areas of tires for uneven or irregular wear. In addition, excessive edge wear, center wear and shoulder wear can act as an indicator for other trouble spots on your vehicle. It's also important to ensure correct air pressure at all times in order to prevent premature wear. Be sure to check the spare as well. 3) BATTERY: Summer heat does the most damage to battery life and is why they often fail in the winter. Check for corroded terminals and a bulging or cracked case. Test and replace battery if necessary.
4) WIPER BLADES: Winter driving conditions challenge your ability to see the road.
